The Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championships were scheduled for early afternoon but there were also other diversions planned earlier — diversions that appeal to the upper crust, which fits in the Scottsdale mold. The first diversion was sponsored by Barrett-Jackson, the auto auction people. I am also sharing of the automobiles they had for sale in their 2019 auction, an event which takes place annually a week before the Super Bowl. But this 1955 Porsche Speedster really stole the show as far as I am concerned. Today, the Porsche 356 is a highly regarded collector car. A fully restored 356 Carrera Speedster (of which only about 140 were made) will sell for around $300, 000 at auction.
