Balos beach, on the northwest of Crete island, although remote and difficult to reach is one of the most famous and spectacular beaches of the island and the whole Greece. It is located at the northwest of the island, in Hania Prefecture *HOW TO GET THERE* Two ways you can go there: You can drive until Kasteli (Kissamos) and then take a boat and go all the way around the cape. The other way is to drive until the next village (Kalyviani) after Kasteli and there ask which way to Balos. You take a difficult dirt road and after 8 km you reach the end of the road.
