the Barcelona Foundation for Ocean Sailing (FNOB), the Barcelona Foundation for Ocean Sailing), who is the organiser of the Barcelona World Race, has scheduled the third edition of the Regatta to set sail on 31 December 2014. The Barcelona World Race sparks the interest of skippers, sponsors and the public as a whole, thanks to the values it conveys which revolve around the following: adventure, achievement, effort, enthusiasm, challenge … it also constitutes a valuable tool for the adoption of good practices which thus reach the different audiences who follow ocean sailing. Within this principle, the Barcelona World Race 2014-2015 has integrated some novelties, notably aspects of sustainability and active contribution to environmental studies and research:Focus on zero emissions: mandatory use of hydrogenerators on participating sailboats. Promotion of greater scientific value: compulsory use of salinity and plastic sensors on participating boats.Promotion of Educational Projects and Knowledge.Promotion of Research and Development projects for the creation of energy studies.Promotion of Technological Projects.The Regatta pre-advert was published on 21 December 2011, as the first step towards registering applications from teams interested in participating in the 2014-2015 edition of the Barcelona World Race. The Barcelona Foundation for Ocean Sailing (FNOB) is currently working on the operation and promotion of the regatta in the run-up to its holding in 2014-2015.
