1853 ca , USA : The celebrated Thai-American born conjoined SIAMESE TWINS Chang and Eng BUNKER ( 1811 - 1874 ), poster for performances around the USA . Born near Bangkok, in 1829 Robert Hunter, a Scottish merchant, saw the twins and realized their potential. He paid their parents to permit him to exhibit their sons as a curiosity on a world tour. When their contract with Hunter was over, Chang and Eng went into business for themselves. In 1839, while visiting Wilkesboro, North Carolina ( USA ), the brothers were attracted to the area and purchased a 110-acre farm in nearby Traphill . Determined to live as normal a life they could, Chang and Eng settled on their small plantation and bought slaves to do the work. Famous and very rich , using their adopted name BUNKER, they married local women in 1843. Chang wed Adelaide Yates (1823-1917), while Eng married her sister Sarah Anne Yates (1822-1892). The twins also became naturalized American citizens. - VAUDEVILLE - MAN - MEN - UOMO - UOMINI - FENOMENO DA BARACCONE - FREAKS - GEMELLI GEMELLE SIAMESI - SIAMESE TWINS - CIRCO - CIRCUS - MUSIC HALL - MUSICAL - CABARET - poster advertising - affiche - cartellone pubblicitario - illustrazione - illustration - coppia - couple --- Archivio GBB
