Battle of Dösjebro 1181. A Scanian peasant army met here the Danes under the leadership of Bishop Absalon 1181. The bridge was the center of the battle. The reason for the battle was that Bishop Absalon wantes the peasants to pay a fee to the diocese of Lund, which the peasants denied, the battle was a fact. Bott sides fought well, but after Bishop Absalond´s riders found a crossing over the river, they attacked the peasant army from behind, and thus the battle was over, the peasant armies surrendered, the bishop victorius. Over 1.000 people lost their lives from the peasant army. The bridge still stands here, a riminder of time, a time when Denmark had Scania, Halland and Blekinge under its rule, many hundreds of years would pass before Denmark would lose these provinces, and the diocese´s seat would dissolved and transfer to Swedish kingdom
