There are dozens of mini schools scattered in Taihang mountainous areas of Pingshun, each having less than 10 including students and the teacher. Usually the teacher in a mini school is in charge of all the courses and even picks up students in busy farming season. According to statistics released by the Education Bureau of Pingshun, till the end of this summer, among 127 primary schools here, 46 are composed of only one teacher and less than ten students. Nowadays, more and more parents in Pingshun sent their children to county town or cities to study. With the decline of the number of students in Pingshun, these mini primary schools face new problems, such as education funds, the lack of teacher and education quality. Nevertheless, many teachers here cling to their posts to help students achieve a brighter future. This school might disappear one day but as long as I am here, I will ensure the education of all my students.
