Several major roads within Nairobi have been constructed by Chinese companies this year. The roads are referred to as China Roads by the local people. The Nairobi Eastern & Northern Bypass Project which was constructed by China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) has been handed over this March. In early September, 2012, the main works of the three sections of the Nairobi-Thika Super Highway constructed by China Wuyi Co. Ltd, Sino Hydro Corporation and Shengli Engineering Construction Group were accepted by the Kenya employer. CRBC was awarded another major road link in Nairobi i.e. Construction of Nairobi Southern Bypass Project. The project is currently under construction and is scheduled to be completed by July, 2015. These projects will not only help ease the local traffic pressure, but also strengthen the bilateral friendship between China and Kenya.
