They now live in a 10-square-meter room at Baisha Village, an urban village usually inhabited by poor locals and migrant workers. In order to relieve the economic pressure of his parents who make a living by collecting wastes, Xiong has spent his weekends and holidays helping them collect scrap iron in construction wastes in the past few years. But it often takes days for Xiong to find a proper site for collection as nowadays there are fewer such places. Xiong wants to be enrolled in a university and become a policeman after graduation, starting his life in the city.
