Large, late C19th Calvinistic Methodist chapel. Still in use. The original chapel was constructed in 1841–1842 for the Calvinist Methodist community by T. Evans of Bangor in an Italianate Palazzo style. The interior was remodeled in 1872–1875 by Richard Davies. In 1903 an organ purchased from Huddersfield Town Hall was installed. The chapel remains an active place of worship for the Presbyterian Church of Wales. Daily services are conducted in Welsh. Nearly square in plan, it is two storeys with a hipped slate roof and the exterior is of unpainted stucco. A large single-storey porch was added in 1872. It has three bays, below a flat roof. The central bay forms a monumental round arch, between pillastered outer bays. There are five windows to the front elevation, four to the sides; the windows are very large small-paned sashes in moulded architraves with rope-mould detail. To the front of the chapel are quoin pillasters with facetted rustication. The chapel is a Grade I listed building, its listing describing it as "a chapel of remarkable scale and dignity ...with an interior of exceptional interest"
