Caption on back of original photo reads : ''THE FAMOUS CHARLIE CHAPLIN STUDIO AS SEEN FROM THE AIR. To get a good '' look-see '' inside the closely guarded Charlie Chaplin Studio, visitors to Hollywood usually go up in the air. Here we have an aeroplane view of this famous movie lot showing the circus big-top where the little comedian is busy filming his forth-coming comedy '' The Circus ''. The buildings on the street front are the administration offices, fashioned after the pattern of English cottages. The stages are clearly shown in the lower right, with the dressing rooms for the players across the lawn in the long white building through the centre. To the left is the tennis court and the grounds surrounding Charlie's former residence. '' The studio was built by Chaplin in 1917 and remained his studio until he sold it in 1953.. It is located just south of the south-east corner of North La Brea Avenue and Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
