With more than 800 years of history to discover, Amsterdam is rich with fascinating attractions and sights. From ancient castles to magnificent museums, secret courtyards to quaint cobblestone streets, and the city's world-famous canals. On one of our many trips to this historic city we decided to spend more time in the old city with its many canals and canal bridges. Every bridge and every canal is different. When you walk through neighborhoods in the old city it is like stepping back in time. The narrow streets are a throwback to previous centuries and many buildings and bridges have been restored in order to retain the character of the old neighborhood. When you walk through the old center of Amsterdam you are amazed by the variety of houseboats in the canals and the many bikes that are leaning against the bridge railings and along the cobblestone streets. This photo was taken at a bridge over the Bloemgracht in the historic Jordaan neighborhood. This black and white photo of the historic Walter Süskind Bridge, a drawbridge over the Nieuwe Herengracht (New Gentlemen's Canal) will draw everyone's attention when they see it hanging in your house or office. You can have it in your hands in less than 2 weeks.
