El Far Castle, also known as the Old Castle of Llinars, was a castle that was built near the Iberian settlement of El Far. Despite not appearing documented until the 10th century, constructions from the 6th century have been identified, a period in which the pit excavated in the rock and some silos were built. Llinars del Vallés is a municipality, located in the autonomous community of Catalonia (Spain), in the province of Barcelona, within the Vallés Oriental region. The municipal term of Llinás del Vallés extends from the southern buttresses of the Montseny massif to the Litoral mountain range. Rainfed agriculture predominates over irrigation, located only on the banks of the Mogent stream. The forests are mainly Mediterranean (pines and oaks); although in the high elevations of the Litoral mountain range oak and cork oak groves also abound.
