--File--A pedestrian walks past the logo of C&A in Beijing, China, 18 April 2011. Montblanc and C&A sunglasses were put on the substandard list of the local quality watchdog for failing to adequately protect the eyes from sunlight and other problems. Among 50 sunglasses checked, seven failed the quality test, the Shanghai Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau said. The lenses of both Montblanc and C&A sunglasses were found to have filter problems. China has three filter ratings based on the amount of absorbed light, with the lowest level providing limited protection from ultraviolet radiation and glare and the higher level a higher level of protection, but not to be worn when driving as peoples reaction to emergencies may be affected. C&A sunglasses were also found to have frame problems. Poor performance against sweat will lead to rusting of the frames, officials said.
