--FILE--Visitors look at Nissan cars during an auto show in Qingdao city, east Chinas Shandong province, 5 May 2012. Nissan (China) Investment Co., Ltd., a unit of Nissan Motor Co., denied a Japanese report that it is planning to suspend export of cars to China until early next January, the Beijing Youth Daily reported. (The company) has not yet received any notice on suspension of exports to China, and the groups car import and export business is still in operation as normal, the local newspaper citing sources with Nissan (China) as saying. Japanese media outlets reported that Nissan had decided to stop exports of vehicles to China until the end of January, citing continuing sluggishness of new car sales in China because of a political standoff on disputed Diaoyu Islands. Such a move would inevitably weigh on the Japanese car makers profit, because most of cars exported to China, though not at a large proportion, are higher-margin models, according to the newspaper.
