China has 358 billionaires, second only to that of the United States, according to the Global Rich List 2014 issued by Hurun Report on Tuesday (25 February 2014). The number of Chinese people who have a fortune of more than $1 billion increased by 41 in this years list, according to the report. Hong Kong business magnate Li Ka-shing topped the Asia and China wealth list with a fortune of 200 billion yuan (US$33.3 billion). Wang Jianlin, chairman of Dalian Wanda Group and Lui Che Wo, chairman of K. Wah Group and owner of Galaxy Entertainment, took the second and third spots. Lee Shau Kee, chairman and founder of Henderson Land Development Co Ltd and No.3 on the global top 10 property developers list, saw his personal wealth shrink in 2013, dropping 9 percent to US$21 billion. Developer Robert Kuok of Kuok Group and No.4 on the list, saw his fortune fall 16 percent to US$16 billion. Beverage magnate Zong Qinghou, founder of Chinas leading beverage maker, Hangzhou Wahaha Group Co Ltd, is an NPC delegate, while Robin Li, founder and chief executive of Chinas largest search engine, Baidu Inc, is a CPPCC delegate.
