Henan Lianhua Gourmet Powder, a company based in central Chinas Henan province whose main product is cooking seasoning, said they decided to cancel the nomination of Xi Yinping, a cousin of Chinese President Xi Jinping, as an independent director, a filing at the Shanghai Stock Exchange said late on Wednesday (2 December 2015). The company did not give a reason for cancelling the nomination of President Xi¯s cousin. The company announced on Tuesday night it had nominated Xi Yinping as a candidate for independent director. According to a biography published by the company in its Tuesday filing, Xi Yinping has been acting as the vice chairman of the Shaanxi Xi Zhongxun research society since 2014. Xi Yinping was born in August 1969 and holds a bachelor's degree. Lianhua Gourmet Powder's revenue stood at 2 billion yuan (US$312 million) by the end of 2014 and gross profit reached 114.2 million yuan, more than doubled from 2013, according todata.
