"Pastoral Time Machine". What is it about the biplane? Born of aviation’s earliest days, they are what most people, knowledgeable and not, immediately conjure in their mind when the term antique airplane, or vintage airplane is uttered. Their open cockpits are drafty, they’re noisy, often uncomfortable and yet popular enough that any number are still being restored, rebuilt, and even manufactured new to this day ! Is it nostalgia, or that one can literally touch the sky in flight that is the appeal? Perhaps both, and more!
