From front to back: Tulipa 'Abu Hassan' (tulip) is a member of the Triumph group of tulips. Triumph Tulips are the largest grouping and have a traditional tulip shape and strong stems. The petals of 'Abu Hassan' are a deep mahogany-crimson with a broad, golden top edge. The plant can grow up to 50cm in height. Tulipa 'China Pink' (like 'Burgundy' and 'Ballerina') is a lily-shaped tulip which has a lighter base and rim to each petal. Lily-shaped tulips tend to have slim stems that look delicate, but actually are pretty sturdy and upright. Tulipa 'Burgundy' are lily-flowered tulips with elegant, goblet-shaped flowers and flaring petals. The plant flowers April-May and the petals are a deep purplish violet. This variety reaches 50cm in height. Tulipa 'Ballerina' or tulip 'Ballerina, ' is a lovely, bright, fluted, lily-flowered tulip with soft, tangerine-orange flowers and a sweet, subtle scent. It is a late spring-flowering tulip (from April-May) that looks stunning planted in bold drifts, as here.
