These are pre Federation guns, presented to the city of Ballarat in 1884. They were presented specifically to be placed on the Eureka Stockade Memorial, unveiled in 1886. All four are 68pdrs smooth bore and should each be on traversing carriages, allowing rapid traverse. They are all fortress guns from Hobson's Bay area in Melbourne. Examples of guns that are complete, can be found in a park off Glenhuntly Rd, Elsternwick, and the lookout park, near the tower at Daylesford. All the Eureka guns are manufactured by Lowmoor (UK) in 1861. The graffiti that covers them, was done by some apprentices in Ballarat, just after the first world war.
