Chicago's West Loop area has seen an explosion of new construction. Three examples of the surge are, from left, with a CTA rapid transit train passing, is the 150 North Riverside Building that opened in 2017. At center, also opening in 2017 is River Point (also known as the 444 West Lake Street Building) reflecting other skyscrapers in the Chicago skyline and Wolf Point West Tower, completed in 2016. The boom is at the west end of the Chicago River where the north and south braches separate from the main flow to form a "Y." More construction is planned for the area including East and South Wolf Point Tower. The south tower is slated to be the tallest rising to about 900 feet and 70 floors. Ground was broken on Wolf Point East Tower in 2017.
