The Frigate a fast warship 19th century. The Frigate used by the Dutch, French, and the British navies became the model for the three-masters of the merchant navies in the 19th century. Later the term "full rigged ship" was introduced this vessels. In the merchant shipping Frigate were employed as emigrants ships, packet ships and sometimes still armed, as Indiamen for the East India companies.
