The Ducie Bridge public House (built 1923) on Miller & Corporation Streets, Manchester which is has been taken over by around 30 homeless people and activists helpers. The public house was closed recently and due to be demolished to make way for an £800 million pound development jby the Coop and a development company. On 14th. September 2016 the Coop were successful in getting an eviction order awarded against the homeless / rough sleepers who are squatting in the building. The squatters are adamant they are not leaving the building and ask that they may remain in the building until the demolition is due - hopefully to remain until after the winter. Last winter (2014-5), Manchester United footballer Gary Neville allowed the homeless squatters to remain in the Stock Exchange building over the winter until it was due to be refurbished into a hotel. Neville had his chefs from one of his other hotels sully meals on a regular basis.
