Scene of Deesis is a traditional representation of Christ in Majesty (or Christ Pantocrator) flanked by Virgin Mary and St John the Baptist The fresco is placed on templon beam of Transfiguratyon Cathedral of Mirozh monastery which is renowned for its 12th century frescoes unique for Russia The cathedral was commissioned by Pskov archbishop Niphont and was built in a Byzantine style Mirozh monastery; frescoes were painted by an unknown Greek master. They depict various religios scenes: Harrowing to Hell (top tier of the left side), Myrrhbearers (second tier of the left side), Assumption (third tier of the left side), Christ Pantocrator with flanked Virgin Mary and St. John the Baptist (right side).
