Brent East by-election candidate Kelly McBride draws an outline around the body of a supporter beneath Big Ben in Westminster. Ms McBride was today drawing the outlines at the Houses of Parliament and the Ministry of Defence in Whitehall as part of a protest to highlight her family's continuing campaign to have Scots Guardsmen Mark Wright and John Fisher thrown out of the Army. The men were convicted of murdering Ms McBride's teenage brother Peter, who was shot in the back in Belfast in 1992, and were sentenced to life imprisonment in 1995. Three years later they were freed and rejoined their unit. Ms McBride, from North Belfast, is standing as an independent candidate in the by-election tomorrow and wants to change the law that allowed the soldiers to return to the Army.
