La Torre de la Calahorra is an Islamic fortress conceived as an entry and protection of the Roman bridge in Cordoba (Spain). The tower stands on the left bank of the river Guadalquivir, was restored by order of Henry II of Trastámara to defend a gainst his brother Pedro I of Castile. To two existing towers, he added a third. It was declared a Historic-Artistic Site in 1931. The Institute for Dialogue of Cultures (Roger Garaudy Foundation) has been installed here with an audiovisual museum. The Living Museum of Andalus presents a cultural panorama of the zenith of medieval Cordoba, the ninth century to the thirteenth century, based on the coexistence of cultures Christian, Jewish and Muslim. It is now called "The Museum of Cultures", and is run by the "Roger Garudy Foundation.
