The photographer's daughter, Lola, standing tall near the water at a place in Lake Orta where we love to swim. It is a glorious summer afternoon and the four children are together enjoying the lake, the sun, one another's company, the company of strangers also there. Lake Orta is a famous, if small body of water; one of the lake's curiosities and attractions is that it exits in a small stream on the lake's north shore, which means the lake empties in the direction of where the Alps take their rise - a fact the ancient Romans also found curious, that the lake should empty in the place where the foothills of the mountains were. The lake is small but deep, with lovely water and tourists come from all of Europe to enjoy its modest wonders.
