Type: Very decorative early 19th century antique hand-coloured engraved map. Text in French. The map also shows the original 100 square miles of the District of Columbia. The area south of the Potomac, known as Alexandria County, was ceded to Virginia in 1847. It included all of the present Arlington County, Virginia, plus part of what is now the independent city of Alexandria, Virginia.
