Massive carved runestones Jellingstenene (Jelling stones) from X century, on the left king Harald Bluetooth Gormsson's runestone from 983 in memory of his parents, king Gorm the Old and queen Thyra, celebrating conquest of Denmark and Norway and christianization of Denmark; on the right king Gorm The Old's runestone from 955 for his wife Thyra. Both runestones are very important for history of Denmark. Behind there is a Large South Mound, built 970 probably for Thyra, wife of Gorm the Old the first king of Denmark, by her son king Harald Bluetooth Gormsson. The royal seat of first kings of Denmark with large stone ship, two large burial mounds, the Jelling stones of Viking Age and Romanesque Jelling Church is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
