The report says that Indonesia is very committed to supporting global efforts in mercury reduction and elimination. The President of the Republic of Indonesia issued a Presidential Regulation, No. 21 Year 2019, on the National Action Plan on Mercury Reduction and Elimination, making the country among the first countries to announce a national plan to phase out mercury. "The Presidential Regulation sets targets of reducing the use of mercury in the manufacture sector by 50% and in the energy sector by 33.2% from the current levels by 2030, as well as of phasing out the use of mercury in artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM) sector by 2025, " the report says.
