Altre informazioni:
A busy crowd of customers in the beer gardens of the Old Wellington pub and Sinclairs Oyster Barin Shambles Square, Manchester city centre. These two buildings are scheduled monuments and date from the 16th and 18th centuries. Their present position is not original as they were relocated and rebuilt in their present configuration adjacent to each other following the redevelopment of the area around Manchester's Arndale Centre after major damage to the area, caused by a bomb planted by the Irish Repubican Army (IRA) in June 1996. The writer and poet John Byrom was born in 1692 in a part of the Old Wellington building then used as a draper's shop and owned by the Byrom family. The two places are popular with visitors to the city centre and are often busy, especially during the summer as depicted here. A significant proportion of the customers on this day are rugby fans attending the Rugby League Super Cup Magic Weekend at the city's Etihad stadium.
