Razor wire around 93-year-old Ruby Barber's sheltered accommodation in Ryehill. Council chiefs have ordered her son, Burt Barber, 61, of Northampton, to take down the wire he had put around her house to protect her from intruders. * He spent 450 on the wire after Ruby suffered four break-ins, but his local council has told him he must remove it. Mr Barber put the wire on top of the garden fence after the last break-in, two years ago, when thieves stole 100 and a gold watch, which was a family heirloom.
