Established in 1994 Women Helping Women (WHW) (whw.org) is a nonprofit organizaiton dedicated to helping women in transition. WHE is vital link to low income women overcoming barriers to employment. Many of these women need assistance building courage, preparing for the workplace, accessing resources and gainng new work skills for job advancement or re-entry. WHW is a key support to clients as they transition from subsidized financial dependency to eoncomic self sufficiency. Women Helping Women serves almost 2, 000 Orange County women annually by providing professional business attire. Women are referred to WHW by over 60 non profit agencies through Orange County with 97% of cleinds HUD certified as extremely low income. 60% of WHW clients are single heads of house hold. Big Sunday is the biggest volunteer project in the United States with over 400 different volunteer projects going on simultaniously from Venture to San Diego. (bigsunday.org) Big Sunday worked with Women Helping Women to garner extra volunteers to help them with their Flea Market, which was a huge success.
