The original sleeve paid tribute to renowned historical and contemporary figures and is one of the best known and widely owned works of art in the world. The Beatles still take pride of place at the centre of his work, flanked by players from the city s leading soccer teams - Liverpool s Michael Owen and Everton s Wayne Rooney. His new collage will go on show at Tate Liverpool from Saturday to celebrate the gallery s 15th anniversary and also marks the city s bid to become European Capital of Culture in 2008.
