Altre informazioni:
St Peters Way dual-carriageway, the A666, in Bolton, looking north from Raikes Lane. The road was opened in 1967 as a relief for the then Manchester Road A666 (Manchester to Blackburn trunk road) which passed through Bolton town centre. Because of the association of 666, the Biblical 'number of the beast', it has sometimes been known as 'devils highway'. Beyond Bolton the A666 takes the form of a single carriageway road winding and climbing over open moorland and has had a high accident rate which has led to speed limits being introduced on it. Even the dual carriageway section in Bolton itself is limited to 50mph, or even less ion some sections.
