Scholes has resigned as chief executive of First Division Preston, Thursday September 19, 2002, after over three years in the role. The Deepdale club made the announcement this morning to the Stock Exchange, confirming Scholes will stay on until Preston's annual general meeting on October 14. Scholes, a director since 1996, said: I have spent six very interesting and enjoyable years at PNE. I am very proud of how far the club has progressed and the success that has been achieved in that time.
