Built by Siemens in Germany, these high quality 3 and four car suburban sets with a top speed of 100mph are a derivative of the Heathrow Express Class332. This fleet, owned by rolling stock leasing company Angel Trains are operated by West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive-sponsored services on the Aire Valley, based at Leeds Neville Hill and operated on the electrified network of Arriva Northern serving the towns of Bradford, Leeds, Skipton and Ilkley. When built all 16 units were three car, but growth on the Leeds local network was such that additional capacity was needed and eight additional trailers were added to stock in 2002 The 16x4 car fleet of 25kV AC electric multiple units was introduced in 2000 and built in partnership with CAF at Zaragoza in Spain.
