A photograph of Broadwater Beach Marina Lighthouse, Biloxi, MS. An entire resort in Biloxi was destroyed by hurricane Katrina, including all buildings and boat docks, but somehow this little lighthouse survived the storm. The cast iron tower is about 66 feet tall and the lighthouse is active. Biloxi was ravaged by hurricane Katrina with virtually all the fine homes across from the beach destroyed. There has been virtually no rebuilding of these homes because the cost of storm/flood insurance is prohibitive. Now just many empty lots for sale and no buyers except for the major gambling casino corporations, who are self insured, and have been buying up the land and building huge casinos.
