Altre informazioni:
This image is exclusive to Alamy. Nottingham's only suspension bridge spans the River Trent between Victoria embankment and West Bridgford. It is approximately 250 metres west (upstream) of Trent Bridge. Whereas Trent Bridge is a six lane road bridge, the suspension bridge is for pedestrians and cyclists only. An Edwardian bridge finished in 1908, it is constructed with two stone piers at each end suspending a light cast iron structure with wooden planking. Its placing on the river allows you to see in both directions around a bend. Though over a mile from the village of Wilford, a plate shows the name of Wilford Suspension Bridge. Though sometimes also known as Victoria Suspension Bridge, most local people refer to it as "The Suspension Bridge". This view is from West Bridgford looking towards Nottingham.
