Looking east from a point where the Chicago River widens to form a "Y" as the main flow splits off into the north and south river branches. The area is called Wolf Point. The main flow of the river proceeds east to Lake Michigan as varied architecture lines its banks. At left in this scene is the massive Merchandise Mart, once the largest commercial space building in the world. On the opposite bank, at right, is the 333 Wacker Drive Building (also known as the Nuveen Building) with its curved, highly reflective surface that follows the bend in the river. In the background, three significant buildings, from left Trump Tower, the corn-cob-shaped Marina City and at center in the distant background, the venerable 75 E. Wacker Drive Building (formerly the Mather Tower and Lincoln Tower).
