Before I retired, every year starting in the mid-1980s, I visited Hawai‘i, usually Maui plus one other island. Since I always knew in advance where I would go on my vacation and approximately when (usually in the Fall) it was easy to made advance reservations, getting good deals on exactly what I wanted in flights and accomodations. The only downside is that it feels like forever before you actually take off. In 2013, I arrived at Hale Maluhia (house of peace), the Bed & Breakfast establishment where I had a room reserved. I had stayed there twice before on previous trips — and obviously I like it here, otherwise I would not be returning. The structure was built as a family residence by a minister with a growing family. Each new kid required a new room addition. Eventually, the kids grew up and moved away. It was converted into a wonderful B&B to which I would return anytime, gladly.
