Altre informazioni:
Miners' path, Colomendy Hall, Flintshire, Wales. Sunken path built to keep miners walking to and from the local quarries out of view of the house. Revetted by drystone walling, rebuilt early 2000s. The house is a Grade II Listed Building but was rather run down & acting as offices for an Environmental Studies Centre when this photo was taken in June 2003. In 2019 the park is being run as an Outdoor Activity Centre by Kingswood Colomendy Limited. It had previously been used for evacuated children during WWII, as a camp for sick children & visiting schools (it was bought by Liverpool Corporation in 1956/7), as a residentional secondary school & as the Colomendy Centre for Outdoor Education. Since 1940 the park and house were used as a site for children’s evacuation camps, residential & visiting schools outdoor facilities, farm, and Environmental Studies Centre. In 2019 Colomendy Park is now part of the Kingswood outdoor activity centres.
