Prehistoric World is a great find for children as well as adult dinosaur enthusiasts. Visitors are permitted to touch the figures (no climbing, sitting, or “riding” them, though, please), so it’s literally a hands-on experience. Kids can also enjoy a “fossil pit” where they can uncover pre-buried “fossils” (hand-digging allowed only—no tools). The entire park is clean, tidy, and well-maintained, with informational signs accompanying each figure. It lacks the amenities of a major park, zoo, or other large outdoor attraction, however, so don’t expect food stands or gift shops or places where you can easily change a diaper. (You’ll find two porta-potties in the parking lot and two bathrooms back of the entrance.) You can bring your own food, though, as picnic tables are on the grounds.
