1 Million Strong is an impact initiative that seeks to transform the way people think about addiction and recovery. We are partnering with the 2023 Stagecoach Festival to offer a sober-supportive wellness tent for festivalgoers to hang out and enjoy alcohol-free cocktails, and meet up with people in recovery as well as allies to enjoy the shows together. With more than 46.3 million people struggling with a substance use disorder, there is a need to change the approach to addiction—especially in the music industry where 57% of professionals cite problematic substance use. The prevalence of alcohol addiction in the U.S. inspired national Alcohol Awareness Month, recognized in April. Stagecoach, and music festivals at large, are a place you would least expect a sober activation, but their team recognizes that health, wellness and openness about sobriety and recovery needs to be mainstream, and all fans should be supported and included at concerts and festivals.
