(Colorized original photo). The Titanic was designed to be the most modern ocean liner constructed featuring many amenities that were unprecedented on passenger ships for the time. All first-class cabins had steward call buttons, electric heaters, electric outlets for reading lamps, fans and electric bed warmers on request. The first-class staterooms were opulently decorated in eleven different period styles including Adam, Louis XIV, Louis XV, Regency, Empire, Georgian, Dutch, Old Dutch, Jacobean and Italian Renaissance. The furniture, light fixtures, upholstery, silk damask panels, and woodworking were accurately recreated by the master craftsmen of Harland and Wolff and some outside contractors. Disclaimer: Despite extensive research, finding accurate information on the exact colours was difficult. Therefore, based on what it 'might' have been, the colours represented are not true to reality but are as close to the 'style' as possible. Warwick Castle, the Orient Express and the Musée du Louvre were used as the primary source of colour reference.
