Thousands of participants are having their feet washed during a foot-washing ceremony to create a Guinness World Record in Wentang town, Yichun city, east China's Jiangxi province, 13 September 2014. A foot-washing ceremony took place in Yichun, east China's Jiangxi province on Saturday (13 September 2014) and featured a grand total of 10, 289 pairs of feet, according to NetEase News. A Guinness official was on hand to verify that this was in fact the largest group of people to have their feet washed at the same time in recorded human history. The event washed away the previous record of 4, 363 pairs of feet set last year in Taipei. But the new record might not last long as Taipei has yet another mass foot-washing ceremony planned for October 12 and they are ready with 10, 000 foot-washing sets. The event promoted filial piety with more than 3, 000 young kids washing their parents' feet.
