Altre informazioni:
Mount Palon is a peak in Trentino in the group of Sasso Rosso, Brenta Dolomites, Alpi Retiche, and has an elevation of 2321 m (7615 ft); it's East of Castellaccio peak. The Sasso Rosso group is located on the natural border between Val di Non and Val di Sole, in Trentino (Italy), and closes the Nana plateau to the South-West. The characteristic red colour differentiates it from other mountains in the area. It can be reached by walking from the Tassulla hut following the SAT 336 path. Once past the malga you continue on a false slope towards the Passo della Nana with a magnificent view of Mount Palon (2321 m); after passing the Baita della Nana and then the small hut Nana you climb with a slight decline towards the Passo della Nana and from here you continue on a comfortable path, always uphill, towards the summit of the Nana (2572 m) from where you can see the ridge that leads to the summit of Sasso Rosso. Go down to the Nana saddle and take the SAT 365A path that leads to the little Costanzi hut. Finally, to reach the summit, leave the path and continue along the stony ridge, looking for the optimal path. The malga Tassulla, on the Nana plain, manufactures and sells mountain cheeses made from the milk of grazing animals.
