PAPUA NUOVA GUINEA: I giovani Huli frequentano il festival. QUESTO FOTOGRAFO ha catturato le tribù concorrenti della Papua Nuova Guinea che si riuniscono
PAPUA NEW GUINEA: Young Huli children attend the festival. THIS PHOTOGRAPHER has captured the competing tribes of Papua New Guinea coming together in an annual celebration - but admits it isn't safe for tourists. Colourful images show tribesmen of the Huli Wigmen and Tambul tribes adorned in ornate headdresses and eye catching yellow and red face paints as they showcased their traditional dress which would have once been used to intimidate their enemies. Other pictures captured men carefully touching up their delicately painted faces and men of the Chimbu tribe, who first made contact with the western world in 1934, painted as skeletons. The incredible images were taken at Papua New Guinea?s Mount Hagen Sing-Sing Festival where over 60 highland tribes meet for six days to share their cultures and rituals. The pictures were taken by businesswoman Alexandra Ramos (49) from Itaperuna, Brazil. Mediadrumimages/ @aleramosphotos
