Editorial use only - Announced on 1st April (April Fools day) 2014: A volunteer lollipop lady is helping sheep and new born lambs cross the road in safety in the South Downs National Park this spring. The National Park is a popular destination at this time of year but the increase in traffic on the road outside the Seven Sisters Sheep Centre in Eastbourne has concerned the owner Terry Wigmore. The lollipop lady will help to slow traffic down allowing his sheep to cross from one side of the road to the other to graze. Terry said: “Because of the lambing season, spring is a popular time for people to visit the centre and this results in a high number of cars on the main road. The bus service to the centre is fantastic and if more people took advantage of this it would help the sheep enormously. We’re hoping that offering 2-for-1 entry for anyone arriving by bus will also help encourage people. When possible visitors should try to leave their car at home and take public transport to reduce the number of vehicles on the road.
