This is a single exposure of the end of totality (Third Contact or C3) of the April 8, 2024 total eclipse of the Sun. It shows the numerous pink prominences along that limb of the Sun and shows the first burst of light from the Sun's photosphere shining through a lunar valley or crater. The bright inner corona also shows up even at this short single exposure. High cirrus clouds added some glow to the diamond ring burst. This is a 1/1000-second exposure at f/6 through the Astro-Physics Traveler 105mm-aperture refractor on the AP400 mount, with the Canon R5 camera at ISO 100. Sharpening added selectively with Topaz Photo AI. This frame is one of 320 shot over about 30 seconds in Continuous mode at C3, to match a similar burst of 240 taken as totality began at Second Contact. This was from my site at Tiffany Park on the east shore of Lac Brome in the Eastern Townships of southern Québec. While the high cloud did mute the outer corona, overall it was a great site and eclipse experience.
