This is the margarine page from a book of food ration coupons in London, Jan. 29, 1942. When all the coupons had been used, a clothes rationing card could be obtained from any British post office by producing the empty food coupon book. Clothes rationing was started on June 1, 1941, without any previous warning, in order to prevent hoarding of clothing stocks. (AP Photo)
